When you give to the University of Colorado Cancer Center, you have the option of restricting your gift to a particular fund. However, we encourage you to consider contributing to our general Cancer Center Endowed Fund, by not choosing a specific destination for your donation. Money raised for the Cancer Center Endowed Fund gives the CU Cancer Center Director a source of flexible, discretionary funds to use as he sees fit. This allows the Cancer Center to maintain its innovative spirit and commitment to funding life-saving breakthroughs when they first appear in our labs.  Gifts to quasi endowments are invested and distributions pursuant to the CU Foundation’s Spending Policy are available for the fund purpose.  However, under circumstances described in the fund documents, all or a portion of a quasi-endowment may also be appropriated for the fund purpose.
